Charles has over 3 decades of professional engineering and planning experience. For much of the last 14 years, he served as the Transportation Engineer and Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of Orlando. He is currently a consulting engineer who focuses on large infrastructure projects and leading the City of Orlando’s Smart City Team. His experience includes project and construction management, transportation engineering, parking systems management, special event management and intelligent transportation systems. Charles is a licensed professional engineer, a fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. In addition to being an active member of other national professional organizations, he is a member of the national steering committee of MetroLab - an exclusive group of partnerships of Universities and their neighboring cities, inspired by the White House, to promote research, sustainable development, and economic development.
