Julia Thayne is the Director of Urban Development for Siemens’ Center for Cities in the Americas. She works at the nexus of public and private sectors, advising local governments on how to plan and implement technology projects that deliver accessibility, sustainability, and growth in cities. Julia has a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University in Atlanta, where she was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar, and a Master’s of Science from the London School of Economics & Political Science, where she was a Charles E. Shepard Scholar. She has worked in community organizations on neighborhood revitalization in the U.S. and for international non-profit organizations on governance in developing countries. She’s done fellowships with universities and organizations in New York City, Chicago, London, and Washington, DC.
